"My husband and I recently moved and were on the hunt for rugs. We wanted to continue to family tradition of collecting and using very fine oriental rugs in our home. We were delighted by both the quality and service at Pak Oriental. Ahmed was extremely helpful, listened to what we were looking for, helped us narrow down the options and let us test out the rugs in our home. He called us to check in, pulled rugs aside for us that he thought would work, and was extremely kind and flexible - without being pushy. We view this as an investment in art. Just like any gallery owner, the staff has a passion for their art and a vested interest in making sure the buyer makes an investment in something they will want to use forever. "Great service! Had been looking at their rugs for a long time and finally decided to buy one. They really took the time to show me all of the features I wanted and finally I found one. It's beautiful! Most importantly they listened and didn't try to sell me the most expensive rug, but rather showed me different styles and allowed me to choose.
If you need a quality rug and want to get educated so you understand what you are buying, Pak Oriental Rugs has a very knowledgeable staff.
Plus, it's a family owned business that has been around for a long time. Their reputation is very good."

'I recently moved into a new place and was needing a specific size rug to fit my small dinning room area. Ahmed and his father were so accomodating and told me to fee free to take the rug home, see if it works and were happy to exchange it if it was not the right fit. when i got the rug home, it was too small and after a couple of days, Ahmed was true to his word and allowed me to exchange the rug for a bigger one and i was so happy to find they had one the exact pattern of thesmaller one. they gave excellent service and were very attentive and willing to bring out as many rugs to find one to suit what i was looking for...i highly recommend Pak and will be back for any future rug needs...thanks Ahmed!"

"We stopped into Pak today spontaneously. We saw the Memorial Day sale signage and decided it was worth a look. We have been looking for the perfect rug for our living room for several years, always forgoing something that was either "almost right" or just too expensive for what it was. Pak solved all of that. We were greeted like old friends, informed politely of the sale going on, and then shown rug after rug to see what we liked. The whole experience was so easy and informative. When we finally found the perfect one the transaction was swift and we were taken care of down to the last detail. This place doesn't just have customer service. This establishment IS what customer service is all about. It's why people go to a retail store - to meet the experts and be sold something that you dreamed about.

"My wife and I have twice purchased rugs from Pak Oriental Rugs--both times uniformly excellent experiences, first with proprietor Anjum in 2001, and then again with Anjum and his son Ahmed in 2011.
In 2001, we went to see Anjum to buy a rugs for our Victorian flat in Lower Pacific Heights/Western Addition. We had already purchased furniture for the apartment and were looking for two rugs in a traditional oriental style to tie the rooms together. We were never really able to find the right pieces on our own. Enter Anjum, armed with fabric swatches from our sofas and ottomans, who made a number of recommendations which were spot on and that still look marvelous in our home a decade later.
Fast forward to 2011 where we were looking for a couple of large format (10x14) rugs, oriental style, for a house in Marin and a second home in Tahoe. Again we walked into Pak with swatches from our furniture and coffee tables. After looking at photos of the interior of the houses and analyzing the swatches, Anjum once again recommended a number of wonderful pieces for us to consider.
Our positive experience with Pak could have ended there but did not. Pak allowed us to test 5-6 of their rugs at home, both in Marin and Tahoe, until we found the perfect fit. Anjum and Ahmed worked with us on budget, with the result that we wound up with excellent quality rugs at fair prices. Once we made our decisions, Pak sent their team of rug installers to our house to put the pieces down as we wanted them (if you have never tried to install a 10x14 rug under a queen-sized bed with two nightstands, let me assure you that this is a very valuable service).
Pak is GREAT!"

"After shopping at 6 other rug stores, I found myself at Pak Oriental rugs in the design center neighborhood of SF. I instantly knew that I was in the right place. The selection is incredible, the gallery is beautiful and Anjum, the president, is a master and a delight. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted (I had already returned one rug to another store that I didn't love once I got it home.) But Anjum and his assistants were so patient and thoughtful as I pondered everything.
We were able to see our 4 selections on the floor in natural daylight - a huge help! I was being so cautious that I went to 3 other stores in the design center neighborhoosd and they didn't come close to having what Pak has. Anjum, a fourth generation carpet dealer was so gracious about letting us take two rugs home. I wasn't even going to take the second rug home because I wasn't sure that I loved it. And it turned out to be the most amazing choice. It's a Jotan, by far the most special piece I saw in 3 months of rug shopping and not that expensive at all. In fact prices at Pak Oriental Rugs are right in line with every other gallery - including Macy's and Anjum is a total class act when it comes to negotiating price.
I truly feel that I got an amazing piece for a very fair price. Anjum let me keep the rugs for 2 days and came all the way to Berkeley to pick up the one we decided against. I highly recommend this store. It's right at the roundabout on Townsend with a big parking lot too."

"An accidental wine spill by a visitor led me to Pak Oriental Rugs and I am so glad! Anjum and his son Ahmad are a delightful pair of knowledgeable art appreciators. They did such a great job cleaning my old Iranian prayer rug that I then brought in two heirloom hand hooked rugs to them for cleaning. Today I picked them up, glowing and restored to their original beauty. I left with my own two, plus a gorgeous new deep orangey red Indian rug that works perfectly with the others and makes me just want to skip those holiday parties and stay home on the rug."

I just got a new apartment that required me to cover the wood floors with rugs. I was hoping not to invest too much, and Ahmed was so helpful in finding something within my price range. He was very patient in explaining the differences in quality and in showing me dozens of rugs until I found the one I wanted.
