"My experience at Pak was really great. Given the investment of purchasing an authentic Persian rug, I was a bit nervous after hearing horror stories about pushy rug salesmen. But the staff there were very kind, patient, and helpful. Ahmed worked with us to find exactly what we were looking for. We emailed in advance of my visit, so I could send him pics of the style/colors we were looking for. That made it easy once we got there, as he had pulled out lots of rugs to show me based on my preferences. We only planned to buy one but ended up with two.. and we love them in our new home!"

"Wow, talk about life savers!
Magenta ink spilled on a very expensive 12' x 4' cream and grey handmade special order 100% wild silk rug. I was beyond frantic and called Pak Oriental Rug. They were closed for the night but the following day, they phoned me, came to the house and took the rug away immediately. While it was being cleaned and repaired Anjum would phone me to let me know the progress and assure me that all was going to be okay. He was very thorough, very professional, very straight forward. The rug was cleaned/repaired perfectly, you cannot even tell there was anything ever spilled on it! I hope and pray that nothing like this ever happens to the other rugs but at least I know that if it does Pak Oriental Rugs can save the day. True professionals."

"My wife and I just moved into a 1 bedroom apartment and wanted to get an oriental rug for the main room. We saw Pak when we were driving in from the airport and when I looked it up on Yelp and saw all the glowing reviews, we figured we would start our search there.
Pretty much everything in the other reviews is spot on. We came in looking for a 6x9 rug, but after talking with Ahmed about the layout and showing him some pictures of the room, we ended up finding a really cool 8x8 rug that was a great fit and beautiful pattern/colors. As with others, Ahmed suggested we take the rug home for a day and try it, which we really appreciated.
This a great place to buy rugs and we'll definitely go back. Ahmed was extremely knowledgeable and showed us a bunch of rugs to get a sense for what we were looking for. When we took the rug home we helped us get a cab (we had come in on foot) and really made the entire experience a pleasurable one."

"I am on a committee to furnish the lobby of a highrise condo on Lake Merritt in Oakland. When it came time to research rugs I had included Pak on my sourcing list. I met with Ahmed on several occasions to review rug choices. Each time he allowed me to borrow a rug to show the HOA board. In the end we selected the third carpet; everyone on the board and committee had selected that rug as their first choice. We all love it. Ahmed was great to work with. Very knowledgeable about carpets in a no pressure setting. He was very patient with my process and worked hard to help me find the perfect carpet. I highly recommend this company for oriental rug purchasing."

"Ahmed and his father saved a friendship. I left my dog at my neighbor's while we went to a dinner party and he decided to entertain himself by chewing a big chunk (about a foot long by 3" deep at some points) out of the edge her Persian runner. It needed to be matched and rewoven. Ahmed and his father were extremely gracious and helpful and their people worked magic. My neighbor could not tell where the damage was. We also had the rug hand washed and they did a fantastic job at an extremely reasonable rate (I know because I had my rugs cleaned somewhere else before for more). They were a pleasure to work with and I would definitely recommend them."

"Not often one has shopping experience that makes their entire day. I went to Pak Oriental Rug last Saturday to buy my first rug. With the help of the extremely nice owners/employee team, I was lucky enough to find exactly what I wanted in terms of size, color scheme, and price, but that was not all! Probably because it was Fleet Week weekend and a middle of the day, there were no cabs in the area to take me and my new awesome rug (and a rug pad) home. Owners offered to call a cab for me, which was extremely nice of them. However, for some reason the cab did not come. While I was content to enjoy good weather and observe Blue Angels from the sidewalk for a while longer, hoping that the cab will come at some point, owners were taking none of it! After seeing me wait for a cab for like 15 minutes, they asked one of their employees to give me a ride home! That's what I call customer service. The employee (unfortunately I forgot his name) drove me home, carried the rug and a pad inside, and even unrolled them for me. Of course I gave him a nice tip! Free rides aside, I am giving Pak Oriental Rug 5 stars because they are clearly passionate about their rugs, they do not mind patiently answering a lot of questions, and they have a great selection of top quality products. I am glad I have found them. Thanks Yelp!"

"WOW!!! Exceptional service and selection! I cannot say enough good things about this place. My mom and I went over to the store during the Memorial Day weekend while looking for rugs for the new apartment. I cannot say enough good things about this store, from the variety of all of the rugs to the exceptional service. Ahmed and his son, and every person we came into contact with, was very professional, curteous, kind and extremely informative. One of the most attractive things I have found was that there was no pressure to buy anything. They truly listened to what we liked, and showed us rug after rug with patience, enthusiasm and a committment to finding what the customer likes. It is very unusual to find a place that considers what the customer wants and says "Do not get it if you do not love it, you have to love it" as Ahmed's son said.
They even took extra care by bringing samples to the house and suggesting others based on the layout of the house. It is a service I have never experienced before. I truly respect the way they handle their work and their passion for what they do. They care about their customers as if they were family and will do everything possible to make you happy. It is a store I intend to come back to when I make a house purchase because of the amazing service I got. I feel very secure in purchasing there and knowing that they will do everything in their power to resolve any issues I may have. From the time we entered the store, through the entire purchase, the installation of the pads on the purchased rugs, everything was absolute perfection and a truly joyful shopping experience.
